Being At Sea

One hundred and fifty miles from the shore can seem like a world away. You look around and see nothing but ocean all around you. You hear the waves hit against the boat in such a way that soothes you all the way to the depths of your soul. Then you close you eyes and breathe in smell of salty air. There can be no doubt in your mind Who made all you are seeing. Just to be in the midst of it is such a privilege. Somehow it makes you feel closer to the Creator. Then you really begin to think. This isn't just your Creator. This is also your Savior. The One who made all that you see, is the very same One who asks to live inside of you, be a part of your life, and love you with everything He has. That is enough to take your breath away. It makes you stop and think, "Who am I, that the God of the universe desires me? He seeks after me and loves me? And all He is waiting for is me to say 'Yes'". In the world's eyes I am nothing special. We are nothing special. However in God's eyes, we are loved. We are cherished. We are His, and He is ours. Won't you say yes?

Isn't It Time???

I'm sure everyone has given up on me by now. I knew I had not updated in a while, but I didn't realize it had been since Easter! My mom always told me that the older I got the faster time goes by. I am learning that's true! I will have to say the time between Easter and now has not been too eventful, which sometimes can be a good thing. I have however been staying busy with a few projects...sewing projects to be exact.

Here are a few projects I have been making. I started out with this book. http://www.amazon.com/Stitch-Learning-Sew-Project-Time/dp/1440211612 It has a lot of neat projects, especially for beginners! You begin making something small, such as napkins and picnic place mats, and by the end of the book you are making skirts and shirts! I would recommend this to anyone beginning to sew!

This can be used for many other things than just a picnic mat. :)

These are two panels of curtains I made for the bathroom in salon that I work in. I love the fabric!

There are other things I have made, but those will have to be posted another day! Hopefully I won't wait so long next time to post.... :-)

P.S. The fabric was purchased from my local fabric shop. Check it out here. She even offers free shipping in the U.S.!

Let's Not Forget To Have....

This picture was taken in a booth in the Country Living Fair in Georgia.

"But I will hope continually and will yet praise thee more and more." Psalm 71:14

Just a reminder for everyo

Faithful

Wow, sometimes I am amazed at my selfishness. I can so easily get caught up in things in my life that aren't going the way I believe they ought to be. Things that I know and believe God is working out, in His time. However, the even more amazing thing to me is that in the midst of my selfishness and complaining, God is standing right beside me. His love for me doesn't waver or falter. It's unending. It's everlasting. It's always faithful. "Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift."
2 Corinthians 9:15

Hoping In Your Love

There once was a girl who had hope.
At first it was in things~dolls, ponies, and bows,
but they didn't satisfy her.
After all, they didn't talk.
As she became older she decided to hope in people,
which was much better, because they could hug, talk, and love her.
However, during her saddest and worst times, those people were no longer there.
What was wrong?
She couldn't put hope in things, because they couldn't love her back.
She couldn't put hope in people, because they sometimes let her down.
Then one day a King came along and showed himself strong and mighty to this girl.
He promised to love her, in spite of what she had done wrong.
He promised to give her peace, love, joy, and forgiveness but on one condition~
She must put all of her hope in Him.
It was all or nothing.
What could the girl do?
She truly had tried hoping in all other things, but it just did not work.
Why not try this hope the King was offering her?
What did she have to lose?
So she said, yes.
Today she still is saying yes to this King.
Why?
Because never has He once given her reason to doubt His promises.
He has always been faithful,
which gives her reason to continue hoping in His love.

"And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee." Psalm 39:7

Hope

There are a couple verses that came to mind today. They are verses of hope and trust that will help to remind us, God sees our hearts and knows our desires. He has good works and plans for us and will carry those out. They will be for our good and to His praise, because He his good.

"Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass."
Psalm 37:3-5
